The Community Conversation is a day of discovery in and around the Soul of Black Folks quilting exhibition. Events will include a luncheon and welcome reception, gallery exploration and interactions with the artists, curator remarks, poetry reading and a quilting workshop.
Curated by Carolyn Mazloomi, nationally acclaimed quilt artist, lecturer and founder of the Women of Color Quilters Network, 50 WCQN artists celebrate the resilience and creativity of African American culture, utilizing quilts as a vehicle for healing, remembering and reclaiming narratives. This exhibition is part of Handwork 2026, presented by Craft in America.
The exhibition is on view July 25 to September 15
Visiting Fitton Center galleries is always FREE.
