Details:
Please join Riverview residents and 17STRONG for an important planning meeting for the October 25th Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt.
This event will be the first in a new 17STRONG Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt Series, created by the 17STRONG History/Education Subcommittee with Riverview neighborhood leaders. The series will spotlight the stories, spaces, and people that make Hamilton’s neighborhoods unique — and Riverview will proudly serve as the pilot location.
The Riverview Scavenger Hunt will be a fun, family-friendly event highlighting key landmarks, cultural assets, and historic sites. It will bring neighbors together, celebrate community pride, and invite both residents and visitors to experience Riverview in a new and meaningful way. The idea grew from community conversations at the Booker T. Washington Center, where residents shared a desire to showcase Riverview’s rich history, architecture, churches, schools, and businesses. Events like Blues on Bailey and the Community Cleanup have already shown the neighborhood’s pride and energy, and this scavenger hunt will build on that momentum.
To help guide the discussion, a working document is attached to this invite. Please review it before the meeting and bring any additional ideas for sites, activities, or resources we should consider.
We’re asking everyone to respond to this calendar invite so we know you’ve seen it and can confirm your availability. You’re also encouraged to share this invite with anyone in your network who might want to be part of the planning team. All participants should be ready to take on a role in planning or coordination so we can share the work and ensure the event’s success.
