Join us as we kick off planning for a new 17STRONG initiative: Pride in Place
The idea is simple — recognize and celebrate businesses, nonprofits, and organizations that take pride in their property and help lift up their surrounding neighborhood. This program is still in the idea phase, so your input will help shape it from the ground up.
We'll be brainstorming how to:
Launch quarterly awards for standout businesses and organizations
Design window stickers or clings for winners
Highlight stories through social media and newsletters
Host volunteer days or neighborhood clean-up challenges for businesses
Create a simple nomination process for residents, city staff, and community partners
The goal is to build authentic connections between neighborhoods and the business community, spark civic pride, and encourage others to get involved.
