A young warrior journeys from his remote village, looking for a cure to a curse inflicted upon him after a fight with a demon. He becomes embroiled in a conflict between Lady Eboshi of Irontown and the forest spirits fighting against her mining efforts.

Princess Mononoke broke box office records in Japan, becoming the highest-grossing film in Japan after its release. Dealing with thorny contemporary issues through a lens of heroic fantasy, Mononoke is one of Miyazaki's most mature films.
