Details:
Join us for an exciting experience at the Tween and Junior Reading Clubs as we embark on a field trip to the Lewis County Herald to explore the legacy of a Revolutionary War hero who used her newspaper to protect copies of a founding document of the United States. Participants will enjoy a tour led by Amanda Curtis, our own lady of the press. The Tween Reading Club, designed for ages 8-12, features educational sessions lasting approximately 60 minutes, focusing on reading comprehension and public speaking skills. Meanwhile, the Junior Reading Club, aimed at children ages 5-7, offers sessions of about 30 minutes that promote literacy and a love for reading. Both programs are part of our summer theme, “Unearth a Story: Unearthing Hohenwald,” which highlights paleontology and history. Registration for summer reading is not required but is encouraged to enrich the experience, and all time spent in story time counts towards reading goals on READSquared. Parking is available across the street at The Lot. Register for READSquared at lewislibrary.readsquared.com/.
