Details:
What fossils can be found in the Finger Lakes region? How did they get here? What were they before becoming fossils? What can this tell us about where we live?...
Program participants will become amateur paleontologists as they simulate a fossil dig and learn about the types of fossils that are found in the Finger Lakes region and how they were made.
Each child will have the opportunity to unearth a fossil and learn about its identity and story. Participants will learn about fossil formation, how to interpret the fossil record, geological time, and ancient environments. Supporting activities will also be provided, including making a fossil to take home. - Cumming Nature Center program description
