Details:
The Arlington Historical Museum is excited to announce two new temporary exhibits that celebrate the rich tapestry of history and community in Virginia. Opening July 12, "We the People" is a traveling exhibition from the Virginia Museum of History & Culture that explores the diverse experiences of immigrants who have shaped Virginia from the colonial era to today. Through stories, images, and historical materials, this exhibit highlights the profound impact of immigration on the Commonwealth’s culture, economy, and identity.
Additionally, the museum features "Arlington Changemakers 250," which honors influential local leaders, advocates, educators, and innovators who have significantly contributed to the community. This exhibit encourages reflection on the vital role individuals play in shaping Arlington's past, present, and future. Alongside it, the "Bicentennial 1976" exhibit showcases memorabilia from the 200th anniversary of the United States, connecting historical events with everyday life and examining the Bicentennial's impact on public memory.
Together, these exhibits commemorate over 250 years of local history and inspire a vision for a more inclusive future. The museum is open every Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM, with free entry for all visitors.
