Rhode Island has a long and storied reputation for rebelliousness, starting with the burning of the Gaspee in Narragansett Bay just before the Revolutionary War. The era of Prohibition was no different, with smugglers trying to outwit the US Coast Guard in the bay and outer waters off the coast. Learn about this period of history and how ships were innovated on both sides, contributing to how our little state became known as one of the wettest states in the union.
Free and open to the public. Registration is not required but those who register at least three days before the event date will receive an email reminder.
