Details:
Since 1963, the Fenton History Center has preserved and shared the history of Jamestown and Chautauqua County. Today, we care for the historic 1863 Gov. Reuben Fenton Mansion, maintain collections of artifacts and archives, offer exhibits and programs, support researchers, and provide educational opportunities for students, families, and lifelong learners.
This year, your support during Give Big CHQ will help advance Vision 2030, our long-term effort to strengthen and modernize the Fenton History Center over the next five years.
Through Vision 2030, our staff and board are working toward several important goals:
Bring collections storage back on-site by planning and building a third building.
Create more space for exhibits, programs, collections care, and community use.
Sustain and expand education programs for students, families, homeschoolers, and lifelong learners.
Fund additional collections work, including a full inventory of artifacts and archives.
Complete major preservation projects, including work on the Mansion roof.
Build reliable support so the Fenton can continue serving the community for generations to come.
Your donation through Give Big CHQ helps our staff and board continue pursuing these goals while also supporting the everyday work that makes them possible. Every exhibit, program, tour, research request, preservation project, and collections effort depends on reliable community support.
Whether you make a one-time gift through Give Big CHQ or become a monthly donor through our website, every contribution helps move the Fenton forward.
Every bit counts. Thank you for helping us preserve the past while building a stronger future for local history.
