It's almost Juneteenth - Freedom Day! Juneteenth is a holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. Other names for the holiday include Emancipation Day and Juneteenth Independence Day. The government declared Juneteenth a national holiday in 2021. The holiday is celebrated on June 19. Come to the children’s room anytime between 3 and 5 PM to make a special craft celebrating Juneteenth. We’ll have plenty of colorful paper, fun stickers, and markers for you to use.
