Lidded Ceramic Canister Workshop at The Makery
Create your own handmade ceramic lidded canister in this beginner-friendly pottery workshop! Using slab-building techniques, students will design and construct a functional ceramic container complete with a fitted lid—perfect for storing coffee, sugar, art supplies, keepsakes, and more.
This class is a great introduction to handbuilding with clay while exploring texture, form, and surface design. Your instructor will guide you step-by-step through the construction process, helping you create a unique and functional ceramic piece.
After the workshop, your canister will remain at The Makery for drying and bisque firing. Approximately 2–3 weeks later, students will receive an email invitation to return during open studio hours to glaze their piece in the colors of their choice. We will then fire the work one final time before pickup.
All materials and firings are included. No experience necessary.
