Details:
Join us for an event titled "President Wilson and Post-WWI Peacemaking," where you will explore President Wilson's diplomatic efforts aimed at establishing global peace in the aftermath of World War I from 1918 to 1919. The presentation will be led by Kent State University professor Ralph Menning, who specializes in international relations and modern European history. Wilson's ambitious vision included global disarmament, democracy, free trade, open diplomacy, and the establishment of a League of Nations to prevent future conflicts. However, his Fourteen Points were undermined by European leaders who crafted a punitive treaty for Germany, and back home, Senate Republicans thwarted his plans for a new global order by refusing to ratify the treaty.
