Details:
Join us for America's 250th Birthday Celebration, a lively event honoring 250 years of history with a colonial-style birthday bash featuring modern twists! Open to all ages, the celebration will include colonial-inspired crafts such as Tricorn Hats and Miniature Liberty Bells, along with popular games from the late 1700s like Graces, Quoits, and Ninepins. Participants can engage in the Great American Scavenger Hunt, discovering important symbols and winning hand-carved wooden tops. Guests can also contribute items to NMPL’s Time Capsule in collaboration with the North Manchester Historical Society, coinciding with the opening of 1976’s time capsule. The Frances Slocum Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will present a talk about Wabash County’s Revolutionary War veteran. Delicious treats, including donuts from Chillz, cupcakes from The Baker’s Daughter, and cookies from Nordmann’s Nook, will be served. Attendees are encouraged to dress in period clothing if they wish. This free event will take place at the Blocher Community Room and Library Lawn, with no registration required, and is sponsored by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
