Details:
Indian River County Parks & Recreation offers two engaging programs at the Intergenerational (IG) Center located at 1590 9th St. SW, Vero Beach.
The first program, Qi Gong, is an ancient practice aimed at reducing stress and enhancing balance, strength, flexibility, and cognitive function. This low-impact class integrates simple stretches, controlled movements, and breathing techniques based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and are led by instructor Katie N. The cost is $12 per class, making it an accessible option for those seeking to improve their physical and mental well-being.
Additionally, PE at the IG invites children aged 4 to 10 to participate in a fun and active program designed to foster exercise, social interaction, and healthy habits. Led by experienced Recreation Leaders, this program promotes essential life skills such as teamwork and good sportsmanship. Classes take place on Tuesdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, costing just $3 per session. There is no registration required, allowing for a convenient drop-in experience.
Both programs aim to support overall health and community connection. For more information on these offerings or other wellness opportunities, please visit the IG Center or contact the department.
