In 1899, Toger and Hannah Fortney unveiled the Hotel Fortney at Main and Court Street, a striking Queen Anne structure designed by Schick and Stolze. Its red brick facade, characterized by ornate stone accents and distinct oriel bay windows, captured the grandeur of city hotels. The lavish lobby featured stained glass, tin ceilings, and oak floors, leading to an exquisite dining room. After years of neglect, the Wrobels revitalized the hotel in 2020, restoring its architectural charm and transforming it into the Historic Fortney Lounge, which now serves local craft beers and delectable food offerings.
