Join us on Saturday, July 11, 2026, for two engaging events designed to connect you with nature and community:
1. **Willow Round Basketry with Clint Grabhorn** (9:00 AM - 4:30 PM): This beginner-friendly, one-day workshop will immerse participants in the delightful art of willow basketry. Under Clint's expert guidance, you'll learn to craft a classic round basket using cured willow, mastering essential techniques such as base creation, twining, and finishing. The session will include insights on processing willow for future projects. All materials are provided, with a materials fee of $45. Participants can expect to complete a small to medium-sized basket and receive informative materials to support further practice. Lunch is included, and attendees are encouraged to bring pruners if they have them.
2. **Bike the Yards 2026 led by Julie Tomaro** (9:00 AM - 12:30 PM): In this guided biking tour, explore urban gardens around Viroqua, where you'll witness the beauty of local gardening efforts. Participants of all ages (8+) will visit several urban farms, engage with gardeners, and enjoy hands-on gardening experiences. The tour promotes community interaction and agricultural appreciation. Specific meeting details will be shared with registered participants.
Both events offer sliding scale ticket options to ensure accessibility for all participants, with supportive ticket tiers ranging from $5 to $125 based on individual financial circumstances.
