Details:
Granville’s historic cemetery contains graves of 23 American Revolution veterans—the third-largest collection in Ohio. On July 3rd, members of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), costumed in period military attire, will portray 11 veterans and recount their wartime experiences at headstones throughout the grounds.
Five re-enactors will be accompanied by Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) members portraying their spouses in historical dress. The event features children’s activities, patriotic merchandise, and photo opportunities with a George Washington portrayal. Self-guided tours with maps are available.
Rain date: July 5th. Starting Memorial Day weekend, headstones are decorated with patriotic bows and identification tags through July 4th.
