Three Sisters Tuesdays: Building Relationship with the Land Through Community and Stewardship
Join us each Tuesday at the Shirley Heinze Land Trust Meadowbrook Garden ( 109 W 700 N, Valparaiso, IN 46385 ) for Jibek Mbwakawen’s Three Sisters Tuesdays, a weekly volunteer garden day rooted in Potawatomi values of reciprocity, stewardship, and relationship with the land.
Gardeners, artists, families, students, and community members of all experience levels are needed to help care for and complete the Three Sisters Garden of corn, beans, and squash.
Volunteer work includes garden care and final installation tasks such as watering, weeding, mulching, moving materials, planting, seed stewardship, and site beautification.
This is a space to work with the land, slow down, and take part in an ongoing relationship with the earth through the seeds and soil we tend.
No experience is needed. All are welcome.
