Nature’s Story: Told Through Trees
Every tree has a story to tell. Discover how tree rings reveal years of growth, changing seasons, and the history hidden within each tree.
Chesterton Art Center, Art Barn School of Art, and Duneland Plein Air Painters are partnering with Shirley Heinze Land Trust for Nature in the Arts at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve on Saturday, August 8. Visitors may stop by any time between 10 am and 2 pm CDT.
This event is free, family-friendly, and includes a variety of art projects you’ll get to take home! Light refreshments will be provided.
Activities:
Create a tree ring print and discover the story hidden inside a tree’s rings with Chesterton Art Center and Art Barn School of Art.
Learn the basics of plein air with Duneland Plein Air Painters.
Join guided tree identification hikes throughout the day.
Enjoy live music by Bob Wichlinski.
