Details:
Shirley Heinze Land Trust and the Chesterton Art Center are collaborating to offer Field Studies, a program that connects nature + creativity. In this special family edition, families are invited to begin the day outdoors at the Keith Walner Nature Preserve, where participants will experience the nature + wildlife of the local waterways on up to 1.7 mile guided hike led by Shirley Heinze staff member, Bella Santana.
Following the hike, participants will head to the Chesterton Art Center for a drop off kid’s watercolor and illustration workshop. Over the course of the 90-minute workshop, local artist Jen Aitchison will guide participants as they create a work of art inspired by the landscape, they were just immersed in.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation.
In the event of extreme weather, the workshop portion will still be offered.
Please dress for comfort and mobility.
The class fees support the Art Center and cover the instructor and materials costs.
