Details:
Last week, we begin to hear Paul's argument for justification by faith as opposed to the works of the law. We ended in 3:15-18, in which Paul argues that the law cannot add on to the promises given to Abraham which are fulfilled in Christ. The question then needs to be answered: why the Law at all? What role did the Torah play in God's plan of salvation?
For Paul's argument to land with his Galatian audience, he needs to not only explain how the Law is no longer a requirement for the covenant between God and his people, he also needs to provide a satisfactory explanation of the purpose that the law served.
Join us for our study tonight (May 27th) in Galatians 3:19-29 at 7:00 pm in the fellowship hall!
