The University of Alabama is proud to partner with the College Board® to offer the Advanced Placement Institute, a professional learning experience designed for both new and experienced AP teachers. Participants will explore subject-specific content, test construction, student and teacher selection, College Board policies and procedures and best practices for preparing and grading AP exams. Whether you are new to AP or looking to enhance your existing program, this institute offers valuable tools, resources and support to help you succeed in the classroom.
The 2026 University of Alabama AP Summer Institute will offer specialized workshops for both new and experienced AP teachers. New AP workshops are designed for educators with little or no prior AP training, while Experienced Teacher workshops support those who have previously attended AP training sessions or have at least two years of AP teaching experience. For Alabama teachers, 30 hours of professional development will be awarded upon successful completion of an institute.
