Keir Giles, an expert on the geopolitical conflict between Russia and the West, as well as the Russia-Ukraine war, will be speaking at Bookish. It promises to be an interesting and enlightening discussion. A limited number of his books will be available for purchase. This is a free event. Bio: KEIR GILES has spent most of his career explaining Russia and what drives it to challenge the West. As well as publishing books and in-depth research in academic and military publications across Europe and in North America, Keir is a regular contributor and commentator on Russian affairs for international print and broadcast media. He is an Associate Fellow at the UK's Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) , but has also worked with more than a dozen governments and defence forces around the world predicting and analysing the Russian threat. He has authored multiple books explaining Russia's approach to conflict and war, including NATO's "Handbook of Russian Information Warfare" (2016) , and "Moscow Rules: What Drives Russia to Confront the West" (Brookings, 2019) . His most recent book is "Who Will Defend Europe?" (Hurst, 2024) which called on European states to step up and take a greater role in providing their own security instead of continuing to rely on the United States.
