The Lions Fishing Rodeo is over 30 years old. Registration is free, participants can register online (on form.jotform.com/?utm_id=97758_v0_s00_e0_tv4_a1demo0eb90ubd) or register at the pond starting at 8:15 AM on rodeo day. The fishing starts at 9:00 AM, ends at 11:00 AM, and we hope that participants will stay for the winner presentations around 11:15 AM. Donations are appreciated and are earmarked for the Mid-South Lions Sight and Hearing Services who provide free eye surgery and hearing aids to those with low income. Participants bring their own fishing gear, although limited amounts of bait and terminal tackle will be made available. There is ample parking at the Library, City Hall and the tennis courts north of the pond. There are 5 age groups, each with 3 major prizes (rods and reels) as well as many minor prizes for any fish caught. The youngest group is "under 5 years old" and the oldest is "12-15 years old". Lions club provides the prizes and manpower. The City provides advertising, equipment, the venue, security and free beverages for the participants. The City of Germantown provides the venue, security, soft drinks and equipment for the event. The Germantown Lions Club appreciates the support TWRA has given us in the past 12 years by supplying fish.
