Speaker: Kevin Burke, Carolina Nature Tours
The Mountains of North and South Carolina are rich in bird diversity. Every Spring we see an influx of migratory birds, none more spectacular than the wood warblers. These jewels of the Avian world are known for their bright plumage, beautiful songs, and interesting behavior. Kevin Burke will review most of the breeding warbler species in our area. We will talk about everything warbler in this fun photographic tour of “our” warblers.
Kevin and his wife, Jennie, are a husband-wife team the own and operate Carolina Nature Tours, based in Hendersonville. In 2023, after years of combined experience in the parks, environmental education, and ecotourism industries, they launched their own family enterprise. Jennie shares, “we are both passionate about the rich biodiversity found here in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.” Kevin specializes in birding and Jennie has an extensive knowledge of plants and community ecology. Together, they offer guided walks, hikes and day trips throughout western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.
The Saluda Library Speaker Series programs are made possible thanks to our partnership with the Polk County Public Libraries Systems.
