The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in cooperation with TWRA, the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and the Friends of Cordell Hull Lake are hosting a youth and family fishing event on June 6th at Roaring River Park in Jackson County, Tennessee. The event will start at 8 am with youth, 15 and under, fishing from 8 to 9 AM and open fishing for the whole family from 9 to 12 PM. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Fishing poles will be available on a first come, first served basis but participants are encouraged to bring your own fishing poles.
On Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day June 6th, 2026 all state residents and visitors of any age may fish for free without a license in Tennessee's public waters. Additionally, youth ages 15 or younger may fish for free the entire week, beginning on Free Fishing Day (June 6) and continuing through the following Friday, June 12.
