**Summer in the Park: A Community Tradition for Youth Engagement**

For over 20 years, Summer in the Park has been a cherished event in the Taylor community, evolving from its origins as Midnight Basketball into a comprehensive program that promotes active, engaging summer experiences for children and teens. This free initiative, held throughout the summer at Fannie Robinson Park, creates a safe and welcoming environment where participants can partake in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, basketball, soccer, dodgeball, and more.

Summer in the Park aims to provide kids and teens with not only recreational opportunities but also essential nourishment, thanks to valuable partnerships with local organizations and businesses that supply meals for attendees. Despite its growth, the core mission remains steadfast: to foster a structured, enjoyable atmosphere where youth can thrive, connect with friends, and build new skills.

As the program continues to evolve, it proudly collaborates with local partners such as Beyond Wow Plumbing, Taylor Lions Club, and the Rotary Club of Taylor, among others, to ensure an excellent summer experience for all participants.
