This class is an open invitation to dance, move, sweat, learn and connect. No prior dance experience is required and all ages are welcome to participate. Please wear athletic clothing.
This class is part of Rio Hondo Artists' Residency's Community Workshop program, and will be led by Zachariah Bigbee.
 
CLASSES ARE IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. 
Participants taking both classes will experience what it is like for dancers to go from studio to stage. The first workshop will be held in Ballet Taos' studios, and the second workshop will be held onstage at Taos Community Auditorium.

About Rio Hondo Artists’ Residency
Rio Hondo Artists’ Residency (RHAR) is an annual dance-based artistic residency program designed to forge connections: to the land, to our culture, and between people. Each year, we will bring together selected dance artists from across the country to work in collaboration with local Taos artists creating in a multitude of mediums. Resident artists will design free programming and events designed to activate the community and give people direct access to the arts-making process, which will in turn inform the work they create and stage. RHAR aims to build a cyclical relationship between artists, this place and its people. Zachariah Bigbee approaches art like a river that stretches from pre-history into the distant future; what we do upstream affects every moment after that. This is why he uses his deep knowledge of ancient traditions as a guide to create work that reveals our best possible future.
