The Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, serves as a place of prayer, pilgrimage, and religious formation dedicated to the memory and legacy of Pope Saint John Paul II. Originally established as the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center, it was acquired and renovated by the Knights of Columbus in 2011 and later redesignated as a national shrine. The shrine features a permanent exhibit on the life of Saint John Paul II, liturgical spaces for daily Mass and prayer, and houses a first-class relic of the saint. It aims to continue his mission through catechetical programs, special events, and liturgical life, welcoming people of all faiths.
