The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host New World Screwworm Update on June 29 in San Angelo. The event is free, but an RSVP is requested. Registration is available online or by calling the AgriLife Extension office in Tom Green County at 325-659-6522. Participants will learn what to expect, how to report and how to maintain external parasite control during this spreading infestation. Speakers include: Sonja Swiger, Ph. D., AgriLife Extension entomologist and professor, Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Stephenville. Representative from the Texas Animal Health Commission. Tyler Davidson, DVM, Los Caballos Veterinary Clinic. Panel style question and answer session featuring Texas Park and Wildlife. Two Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units — one general and one integrated pest management — will be available.
