Details:
Join us for "Build a Dino Video Game," a three-part series taking place on Tuesday, July 21, Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday, July 23, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. This program is designed for avid gamers aged 11-18 who are curious about video game development. Led by OFL's Digital Services & Technology Librarian, participants will explore the fundamentals of creating a dinosaur-themed video game using Microsoft’s MakeCode Arcade block-code editor. You will work alongside peers to design, code, and test a simple platformer game inspired by classics like Mario Brothers, and compete against each other to become the MakeCode Arcade champion. No prior coding experience is needed—just an enthusiasm to create and learn! Laptops will be provided for use during the sessions. Please note that registration is required, and signing up for one session registers you for all three. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn valuable programming concepts like variables, conditional logic, and loops while having fun! Register here: onlib-onondaga.libcal.com/event/16958932.
