This discussion will focus on the jail history of Onondaga County 1794-present. Topics include the 1810 Onondaga Hill Jail, 1812 jail break incident, 1829 Division Street Jail, 1850 north side penitentiary, the plight of the orphaned canal boys, jail site execution ground, the 1900 and 1983 Jamesville Penitentiary, 1917 Cedar Street Jail, 1964 Public Safety Building Jail, and the 1995 Justice Center Jail.
