Design and print your own custom tote bag using a DIY silk screening process! In this hands-on workshop, participants will create their own screens with embroidery hoops and mesh, then transfer their designs with screen-filler techniques. Once the screens are complete, participants will print their designs onto tote bags using ink and squeegees—learning a process they can easily recreate at home.
Participants will:
-Understand the basics of screen printing
-Learn how to create a DIY screen using accessible materials
-Explore positive/negative space in design
-Practice layering and stencil-building techniques
-Print a custom design onto a functional tote bag
This workshop is taught by Everson Teaching Artist Cohort Teaching Artist Ashe Martin.
