The Sumter Museum is a private, non-profit institution dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the Old Sumter District (present-day Sumter, Lee, and Clarendon Counties). Through dynamic exhibits, period rooms, living history demonstrations, and educational programs, the museum explores historical experiences to inform and shape the future. Its campus includes the historic Williams-Brice House, the Heritage Education Center, the Carolina Backcountry Homestead, and the Temple Sinai Jewish History Center. The museum also offers rental spaces for events and provides educational resources for learners of all ages, including school tours and workshops.
