Details:
Join us for our June Water Ambassador webinar to learn about the UF IFAS Lakewatch program. And hopefully inspire you to be a Lakewatch citizen scientist!
Dr. Liz Moreau will be our guest speaker. She is the Extension and Budgets Manager for UF/IFAS Florida LAKEWATCH, one of the largest and longest-running participatory science programs in the world. She works closely with the Regional Coordinators to ensure volunteers are well-trained and collect high-quality data statewide.
Dr. Moreau leads the development of LAKEWATCH’s educational content, including newsletters, science presentations for statewide meetings, and Extension publications. Her research background is in marine disease ecology, with a focus on crustacean fisheries. She earned her PhD in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from the University of Florida, an MS in Marine Biology from the College of Charleston, and a BS in Zoology from Michigan State University. She grew up in Ohio before beginning her career in aquatic science and Extension education.
