Details:
Join us at Callanwolde for an enriching experience in pottery with a variety of courses designed for all skill levels. Start your journey with **Beginning Handbuilding (POT 05)**, where you'll master the art of creating ceramic forms without a potter’s wheel using techniques like pinch, coil, and slab construction. Safety guidelines and procedures in the ceramics studio will be emphasized. Each class includes a $98 supply fee, covering one bag of stoneware, raku, or Lizella earthenware clay, glazes, and firing space, while students are required to provide their own tools.
For those inclined towards wheel-throwing, take the **Beginning Wheel (POT 13)** class, perfect for newcomers eager to learn basic throwing, glazing, and firing techniques while crafting small items such as cups and bowls.
If you have prior handbuilding experience, consider stepping up to **Intermediate Handbuilding (POT 06)**, where you'll explore advanced techniques and design for both functional and sculptural pieces, with a prerequisite of Beginning Handbuilding.
Experienced wheel throwers can refine their skills in **Altered Pottery (POT 17)**, which focuses on intermediate techniques in crafting unique wheel-thrown items. Like all classes, these courses maintain the same supply fee structure and require personal tools.
Please note that all pottery projects must be created within the Callanwolde Pottery Program studios, as outside work is not permitted. Embrace your creativity and develop your pottery skills with us!
