Details:
Join Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center for the next installment of its Family Nature Walk series on Friday, June 26 at 11:00 a.m. This month's program, Forest Birds, explores the fascinating birds that inhabit forest ecosystems around the world.
Developed to complement the Nature Nook exhibit, Plumage and Place: Birds of the World, Family Nature Walks offer more than a guided hike. Each program begins with a special show-and-tell led by Annmarie's staff naturalist, Hester Burch, featuring birds, artifacts, and nature lessons related to the featured habitat. Following the presentation, participants will take a guided walk through the forests and fields of Annmarie, discovering seasonal sights and sounds along the way.
The June program focuses on forest birds, from woodpeckers and owls to colorful parrots. Participants will learn how different forest habitats support unique bird communities and discover the adaptations that help these species thrive.
Family Nature Walks are designed for all ages and are a fun way for families to explore nature together. Because every walk highlights a different habitat and seasonal discoveries, no two programs are exactly alike.
Participants should dress appropriately for the weather and wear shoes suitable for muddy trails - event is rain or shine. Admission to the park is included with registration, and guests are encouraged to pack a picnic and enjoy the grounds after the program.
