The Summer Author Series is kicking off its 4th year at Gilbert and Ivy during the BURG Days of Summer.
Meet JONATHAN HOFFMAN author of "Stories from my Garden"
July 8, 2026 from 6 to 7 pm
Stories from My Garden shares the wisdom of a gardener; his love and respect for the earth and the plants that grow in it. Jon combines his personal gardening experiences, botany, history, and in-depth horticulture research with his unique storytelling style.
Each vegetable in this book tells the story of its journey from its native land to the author’s backyard garden. The author shares insights from decades of gardening experience, including selecting varieties, planting, caring for, and harvesting.
Raised-bed gardening shows how to achieve significant yields in small spaces. Soil and compost are the heart of the garden. The compost area in the Hoffman landscape is affectionately known as Gomer Pile.
