Details:
Join us on July 8, 2026, at 5:30 PM for a special commemoration of the historic reading of the Declaration of Independence, which was first publicly read on July 8, 1776. This event will take place at the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum located at 20 Aviles Street, St. Augustine, FL, in partnership with the Daughters of the American Revolution Maria Jefferson Chapter and the Sons of the American Revolution St. Augustine Chapter. As part of a nationwide simultaneous reading, local community leaders will share selected portions of the Declaration, allowing us to unite our voices with those across the country. St. Augustine, known as the nation’s oldest city, offers a fitting backdrop to reflect on the founding of the United States. The event is free and open to the public, with no reservations required.
