ABOUT THE BAND
HighTide Players is an eclectic blend of jazz standards and toe tapping classics. Bill Vasileff started learning piano at the age of 7, and then picked up the guitar in high school. He quickly found a love for jazz and attended the Loyola College of Music in New Orleans. For 10 years, Bill collaborated and studied with some of the best players around. He then returned home to Jacksonville continuing to play at a variety of events and gatherings. His passion lies in teaching and creating music. Bill strives to learn something new every time he picks up his guitar or listens to music. Accompanying Bill, and the backbone of the rhythm, is percussionist Kevin Bachman, a.k.a. K2. Kevin has been a working musician for over 35 years starting in his high school garage band in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kevin has played in clubs, bars, and events across Ohio and Florida. He enjoys many genres from Miles Davis to The Grateful Dead. Currently, Kevin has found a home playing with the HighTide Players. Their fluent style and creative melodies make them a must-see in St. Augustine.
