Details:
Experience the vibrant exhibit "The Color of Familiar Places" by artist Harold Dumas at Wistariahurst’s Great Hall. This collection showcases Dumas' oil paintings depicting sights around Western Massachusetts, emphasizing the beauty found in often-overlooked locations. Through his work, Dumas aims to create emotional atmospheres that invite viewers to pause and appreciate their surroundings with a fresh perspective. The exhibit runs until July 28th, 2026, during open gallery hours on Mondays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. In addition, the museum is open for general hours, allowing visitors to explore the first floor and current exhibits. Dumas, a self-taught artist from Holyoke, infuses his paintings with a sense of light and memory, fostering connections to the local landscape through both his artistic practice and community engagement. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Holyoke Local Cultural Council.
