Exploring Acrylic Landscape Painting Summer Camp (ages 9-12) with Anna Pearsall

In a fun, low-pressure environment, students will learn the basics of color mixing, composition, blending, layering, and rendering details with acrylic paint. Anna will walk each student through a landscape painting every day, building up to the final day on Friday where she will help them paint a landscape they are passionate about. By the end of the week, students will have a basic understanding of how to create a landscape painting, how to mix paint from primary colors, how to use and care for acrylic painting supplies, how to use a reference photo, different exercises and purposes in keeping a sketchbook, and hopefully excitement and passion to keep creating art that they are passionate about.
Monday: Clouds. Students will learn the basics of blending with acrylic paint.
Tuesday: Mountains. Students will learn how to layer paint, working from the background to the foreground.
Wednesday: Trees. Students will learn the basics of how to render details with different brush sizes and textures.
Thursday: Lake. Students will learn a few basic rules of composition, and how to bring all the previous techniques together.
