The Spartanburg County Historical Association (SCHA) is dedicated to exploring and preserving the history of the Spartanburg region by collecting and sharing the stories and artifacts of the people who shaped its past. Founded in 1957, the SCHA operates three historic sites: Walnut Grove Plantation, the Historic Price House, and the Seay House, each offering unique insights into local history through tours, events, and educational programming. Additionally, the association manages the Regional History Museum of Spartanburg County, which features permanent exhibits covering the area's history from early explorers to the late 20th century, including military history and decorative arts. The SCHA engages visitors with living history programs, inspires learners of all ages to explore local history, and involves the community in preserving its shared heritage.
