Details:
K-Ready and TCMU Tots are engaging programs held at the Spartanburg Children's Museum aimed at fostering curiosity and development in young children. K-Ready runs Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, offering guided play, interactive storytelling, art, movement, and hands-on exploration led by caring early childhood educators. It aligns with the five core components of the "Ready Kindergartener" framework:
1. **Approaches to Learning & Inquiry** - Encouraging curiosity and confidence through play and discovery.
2. **Emotional & Social Development** - Fostering skills like sharing, empathy, and emotional regulation through group activities.
3. **Physical Development, Self-Help & Motor Skills** - Supporting motor skills and independence in a fun environment.
4. **Mathematical Thinking** - Enhancing early math skills through interactive games.
5. **Language & Literacy Development** - Promoting listening, speaking, and early writing through read-alouds and discussions.
This free and inclusive program does not require registration and is especially tailored for children entering kindergarten in Fall 2026.
Meanwhile, TCMU Tots is designed for children aged 2–5, focusing on sensory play to spark curiosity and creativity while developing fine motor and social skills. This program is located in the Get Up & Grow area on the third floor of the museum. Together, these programs provide enriching experiences that promote joyful learning and readiness for school in a supportive environment.
