Details:
Join us for an exciting summer of aviation exploration with two remarkable programs designed for children and their families!
**Soar into Summer Program: Balsa Airplanes** invites young aviators ages 4 and older to discover the four forces of flight by building, modifying, and flying their very own balsa wood airplanes. This engaging activity includes a $5 materials fee and promises a fun-filled introduction to the principles of flight.
**Aerospace Academy Family Workshops** at the New England Air Museum is a brand-new offering for kids ages 8-12 and their caregivers. These hands-on workshops take place over six weeks, from July 5 to August 15, 2026, featuring a different themed experience each week. Participants can explore the history, science, and technology of flight through interactive activities and behind-the-scenes access to the museum. The workshops are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with a cost of $40 per session for one child and one caregiver, including museum admission. Spaces are limited to 20 kids per workshop, so early registration is encouraged.
Each week focuses on a unique theme, including Aircraft Design, World War II Innovations, Forces Beyond Airplanes, Aircraft Restoration, Space Exploration, and Airport Operations. Complete all six workshops to take on the Summer 2026 Challenge!
Learn, build, and get inspired together this summer as you journey through the wonders of aviation!
