Details:
Join the Detroit Bird Alliance for a fantastic late summer birding experience at Pointe Mouillee State Game Area, one of North America's largest freshwater marsh restoration projects, covering 7,483 acres of wetlands and open water. Expert birders Jim Fowler and Jim Bull will guide you as we drive the dikes, where participants can choose to either drive or bike alongside the caravan. This significant waterfowl habitat is located within the Atlantic and Mississippi flyways, making it a prime spot for observing a variety of migrating bird species such as White Pelicans, Redheads, Scaups, Gadwalls, Common Goldeneyes, Buffleheads, Northern Pintails, and Northern Shovelers. We'll convene in the Sigler Road parking lot, where restrooms are unavailable. After registering, participants will receive the bi-monthly newsletter, Flyway Express, and can opt to become a member of the Detroit Bird Alliance for a discounted rate by adding a $50 donation during sign-up. Don't miss out on this popular event for bird enthusiasts!
