Join us for the "Shipwrecks & Rescues Beach Walking Tour," a captivating 60-minute experience on August 30, 2025, at 7:00 PM. This engaging tour, offered in partnership with Cape Henlopen State Park, invites participants to stroll along the Delaware coast, where over 2,000 ships have met their demise since the 17th century due to storms, accidents, and even acts of war. Guided by knowledgeable storytellers from Historic Lewes and Delaware State Parks, you'll hear fascinating tales of both tragedy and heroism as you walk the very beaches where these events unfolded. The tour begins at the Point Comfort Station Parking Lot at 37432 Post Road, Lewes, DE 19958, with departures scheduled every 15 minutes between 7 and 8 PM. Please wear comfortable walking shoes as the tour takes place on sand, and note that park entry fees apply for participants without an annual pass. In case of inclement weather, you'll be notified one hour in advance, and refunds will be provided through the reservation system. Don't miss this unique opportunity to discover the rich maritime heritage of the area!
