Pet Refuge

Pet Refuge is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter established in 1978, dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of animals and finding them permanent homes. The organization operates with an all-volunteer staff and maintains a shelter and foster homes for unwanted and abandoned pets. Their mission includes spaying and neutering all adopted animals to help control pet overpopulation, providing necessary vaccinations, and testing cats for Leukemia and FIV, and dogs for heartworm. Pet Refuge also offers a public food program for those in need, provided they meet financial qualifications and have their household animals spayed/neutered. They support local animal control facilities by taking in overflow animals and also accept owner surrenders when space allows. Adoption events are held regularly, and the organization emphasizes a thorough adoption process to ensure the best match between pets and families. Volunteers are crucial to Pet Refuge's operations, assisting with animal care, office tasks, and social media outreach.
