Humane Fort Wayne-Tour and Service Project!

Humane Fort Wayne has set up a great volunteer experience for us where we will get to learn a little bit about the organization, spend time with cats and dogs and complete a project that is needed for their organization or animals. 
All Majors and alumni are welcome and a planned itinerary is below. 
Please note that this is subject to change based on what is needed and available at the shelter on our given day.
10 AM - 10:30 AM Sign in + Orientation & Safety training
10:30-12 PM Our group will be split into 4-5 smaller groups and will rotate stations: 

Cat Time
Dog Time (if weather is nice, this will happen outside) 
Tour of facility
Craft/project time - we will make enrichment or supplies most needed for the shelter at the time of your group. 

Here is what you need to know for the day: 

Parking is limited, please plan to carpool as much as possible to the site. *We can fit up to 11 students in the express van and that will be a question on the RSVP form. Once that capacity is reached, students are allowed to ride with other students but cannot be transported by Ivy Tech staff in a non approved college vehicle. 
Please follow the Humane Fort Wayne dress code: 

Closed toed non slip on shoes
No spaghetti straps, bare midriffs or shorts below your fingertips
No cologne or perfume (it can upset the animals & some people)
If the weather is expected to be above 60 degrees, please dress to be outside for a part of your time that day. 

*If anyone from our group is allergic to/afraid of cats or dogs, you are welcome to stay outside of the rooms with the animals or return to our group project.*
