Families of children with special needs and disabilities--despite our income or education level, our race, culture or religion--hunger for information to help us understand and provide the best possible care for our child. We may feel confused, drained, discouraged and isolated. Since there is no way to really understand our challenges without going through them, The Windmill Project relies on family members to reach out to one another. We provide family members with information, develop peer networks between families and individuals for emotional support and encouragement. Our services include, but are not limited to support and networking groups, workshops/seminars, information and referral, electronic/print/video resources and fun family activities. Most services are provided at no cost to families; when minimal fees do apply, scholarship assistance is available.
